Aviation Sector Case Study
The Challenge
Employees working in aviation operate in a high-pressure environment. Long hours, shift work, disrupted sleep and constant performance demands all take a toll on mental health.
Across pilots, cabin crew and ground staff there was a clear gap in understanding how mental health difficulties can show up day to day and how closely these challenges are linked to sleep. Many employees weren’t sure what signs to look out for in themselves or others, or how to start conversations when concerns came up.
The Solution
Thrive delivered a full-day (8-hour) psychology-led mental health training workshop for employees. The session focused on understanding mental health in the workplace, recognising early signs of distress and developing practical communication skills. Evidence-based psychological frameworks were used to normalise mental health conversations and equip employees with tools they could apply in their day to day lives.
The training was highly interactive, combining psychoeducation, real-world scenarios, reflective exercises and facilitated discussions.
Outcome
Following the workshop, employees reported feeling more confident discussing mental health with colleagues and managers. The training helped create a shared language around wellbeing, reduced stigma, and increased feelings of psychological safety. Participants felt better equipped to support themselves and others, contributing to a more open and supportive workplace culture.
Corporate Sector Case Study
The Challenge
Employees within a fast-paced corporate environment were experiencing ongoing stress linked to workload, pressure and high expectations. While stress had become “normalised,” many employees were operating in a constant state of tension without fully recognising the impact it was having on their mental health, focus and of course performance.
There was a need for a safe, practical space where employees could step back, understand their stress responses and talk openly without judgement or generic wellbeing advice.
The Solution
Thrive delivered an in-depth half-day stress management workshop for a small group of 20 employees. The session was intentionally kept intimate to encourage open discussion, reflection as well as psychological safety.
The workshop focused on:
- Understanding how stress shows up mentally, physically and emotionally
- Identifying personal stress triggers and early warning signs (key message here was prevention is better than cure)
- Exploring how stress affects decision-making, communication and energy levels
- Learning realistic, evidence-based techniques to regulate stress at work and outside of work
The session blended psychological insight with guided discussion and practical tools, allowing participants to connect theory to their real, day-to-day experiences.
Outcome
Employees reported a clearer understanding of their own stress patterns and felt more confident recognising when stress was beginning to escalate. The small-group setting allowed for honest conversation, helping participants feel less isolated in their experiences.
Following the workshop, employees felt better equipped to manage stress proactively and to communicate more openly about challenges. The session helped foster a sense of support, self-awareness, and psychological safety within the group, with practical tools employees could continue to use beyond the training.
